A more robust food safety management system that consists of McDonald’s expectations, based on Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) benchmarks McDonald’s Japan has won the MSC Japan Award in the Food Service category, held for the first time in 2024. This award recognizes businesses that promote MSC-certified marine products in Japan.We began sourcing caught pollock for Filet-O-Fish® from MSC-certified fisheries in July 2015 and obtained MSC CoC certification in October 2019.
